| My reaction to the attack on Malala Yusufzai |
The attack on a 14 year old, 8th
grade, student is an act of cowardice, nothing more, nothing less.
I cannot quote a single incident from the Islamic history when attack on children has been allowed, appreciated or justified. The
Islamic books that I have read and the scholars that I have listened to, preach
the lesson that even during wars our holy prophet (PBUH) ordered the armies to
spare women, children and the elderly and to treat the prisoners with care and
respect.
If this is a war for the glory of Islam, as the Taliban (who have also reportedly accepted responsibility for the attack) claim, then shall it not be governed by the rules of restraint and principles of war followed by the holy prophet (pbuh) and his companions?
One fails to understand which
version of Islam is being taught to these militants? Which books do they learn
their Islam from? Which sadist mind teaches them to resort to barbarism and
irrational chaos in the name of Jihad? Which philosophy and logic do they base
their heinous actions on?

According to Islam a girl is no longer a child when she menstruates. Thus this 14 year old girl is not a child but an adult. Killing the adults who oppose implementation of the sharia is a well established Islamic principle.
You can't whitewash Islam from this.....
I don't know which Islam are you talking about? So far I have learned that Islam is the religion which has given voice to women-to equally contribute to the society. The main problem is how you interpret Islam and Its teaching?
You may like to watch some scholars discussing the issue from a theological point of view.
